Have you gotten into tearing down the x20 further? With everyone saying the rear radiator "doesn't do much, " but not saying how it functions; would you know if changing the rear radiator out for a solid plate could improve or manipulate the sound for the better? Do you know if the stock rear radiator is joined physically in tandem with the others?

Tweeters over the midrange gives much better soundstage and imaging. You don't have waveforms overlapping and canceling each other out. It's much more complicated than that but in short, having them separated is NOT a "win". That's why you'll see hifi speakers try and get the axis of each driver extremely close to one another to the point they'll cut into the frames. JBL knows what they are doing, they've only been in the sound engineering field and pioneered half of it before your parents were probably born. PS. Learn how to use a tape measure! It's not "ish". Those little lines mean something, it's called fractions. 1/16th, 1/8th, 3/16, 1/4. 5/16, 3/8 etc. If you didn't skip 6th grade you even know how to convert those fractions into decimals. (Hint, the fraction itself is telling you what to do. It's one number divided by the other.)
