This dock is definitely an essential if you can get over the insane price tag. Just picked one up second hand on ebay for half the price and plopped it on my desk at work. Now my sp4 is a full blown desktop at the office, and the smallest/lightest ultrabook on the go when Im travelling!

I’m planning on going from 2012 MBP to the surface book 2, so I’m quite used to MDP, but I wonder if they’re going to release a new surface dock, with better features soon

Hi, can you tell me if I can use this Surface Dock 1 with my Surface pro 9? It’s because, I need more USB, than Surface Dock 2 or 3?

I have this setup with my surfacebook. The docking station keeps my laptop charged at 100% and now it gets really hot when I'm working for long periods of time. What can I do to prevent the overheating? My battery saver is at 30%.

Nice series. Episode idea: Using the Task View Features. I get a lot of value from having a second desktop view always arranged with my mail, calendar, and tasks.

Does this surface dock work with lenovo m14t monitor with just type C ports ? I have tried many adaptors, even hdmi.. But my surface pro 4 does not want to recognize the m14t. Please help. I so not want to give up on either of the two... plzz.

Can we connect the dock without the power just use it like a hub?

Do you need to connect the DC of the dock for enough power to use all ports? Or does it feed from the energy coming from the Surface Pro alone?

I see that you can connect 2 external monitors. But can you connect 3 external monitors using the minidisplay port on the surface pro 4 and the 2 on the dock?

Do you happen to know why my monitors have to be set up every time I unplug from my laptop by chance?😩

Thank you for your Surface Pro Tips!  Can you tell me if you have experienced jitter when connecting up to a 4K display?  When I connect my Dell 28 inch 4k monitor, as long as I only work with applications, all if fine, however, as soon as I do something with the internet, the display will flicker on and off.  Drives me crazy when I am trying to conduct an instructional session with my students. Would you have any advice?  Thank you so much!  Cheers

To bad you cannot turn the damn laptop on when connected to the dock and closed. We have a user that uses the surface laptop closed in a hard to get to area, cannot turn the laptop on without having to pull it out, open it up and hit the power button. Such a bad design.
