Dry Fire Hydrant Design - Cornwall Bridge, Connecticut - Part 1

This is the first of two video clips that examines a dry fire hydrant upgrade project along the Housatonic River in Cornwall Bridge, Connecticut. The system shown in these two videos was designed to replace the existing system that had been damaged by storm debris. The new system used all welded-steel pipe and fittings to provide improved resilience to storm debris and ice. In 2016 we completed a fire protection water supply consulting project for the Cornwall VFD and the replacement/upgrade of this dry fire hydrant was recommended. The upgrade project was funded and completed by local contractors and now the village once again has good access to a fire protection water supply.
