When I was 10 years old my dad went to a charismatic revival, and when the female pastor laid her hands on me I wouldn’t go down, and everyone seemed offended or like there was something wrong, and then I just pretended to be “slain in the spirit” to appease them. It’s all emotionalism and suggestion and even in many cases peer pressure. You know what didn’t happen at that service? Anything of substance.

Protestants believe this kind of thing but don’t believe that the bread and wine can be Jesus. Sad.

I don't care if they wanna practice their dragon ball z moves just don't drag the Lord into it. It's silly. They're being dramatic.

If there is a spirit involved here, it is most certainly not the Holy Spirit.

It’s an induced euphoria. It’s hot, it’s loud, it’s repetitive, you’re surrounded by an unleashing of emotions from all sides, and there’s an expectation.

Resting in the spirit , lve often rested in the spirit, not to the extreme here.
Im involved in Charismatic Renewal with 30 years, and my experience is when prayed you rest peacefully, and lve experienced great healing and the Lord s presence.

Unfortunately, I've been present at Catholic conferences where this is happening, and I've never been back. On an emotional, spiritual, and rational level, I think it's dangerous to introduce the idea that the extraordinary gifts of the Holy Spirit are commonplace to an audience of people who are largely at the earliest stages of spiritual growth, and who are eager to be a part of something "supernatural."

So, this can actually be a psychological thing. Not necessarily God at work, but it can be a very genuine experience on the part of the person. I strongly doubt a demoniac would be going to a worship service to begin with.

Sometimes, I do think it could be darker. However, most of the time, I think It's just an emotional reaction.

I think it’s mostly psychological priming and the deep emotional manipulation that goes into charismatic worship services. Being told if you don’t have the right experiences then you aren’t a true Christian can be rough.

It’s idol worship. They worship the feelings of going to church more than they worship God. Sad.

I think it’s the same weak mind results you get from people who get hypnotized and think they’re a chicken. or

“For among these are ones who penetrate houses and lead away, like captives, foolish women burdened with sins, who are led away by means of various desires, always learning, yet never achieving knowledge of the truth.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭

“And in the same manner that Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so also will these resist the truth, men corrupted in mind, reprobates from the faith. But they will not advance beyond a certain point. For the folly of the latter shall be made manifest to all, just as that of the former.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭

How can Protestants attack the Catholic Church with a straight face when this is what they call worship?
I know not all Protestants do this but it does show how badly wrong they’ve got it in some denominations.

Here’s a question I have had recently Michael… is Protestantism even Christianity? If the Real Presence is true, then that means the Eucharist is the most essential part of the Christian religion, and Protestants completely reject it. So are they even truly Christian? To follow Christ is to follow His commands, including His command to “Do this in remembrance of me.”
My follow up question is this… what are Protestants actually experiencing when they speak of the “fruits” they receive? If they reject the Eucharist, the center of the Christian life, why would Christ give them any sort of graces? Are they experiencing real relationship with the Trinity or is it all entirely emotionalism?
