The only connection to the old man Logan comic is that he is old. No adoptive family, no inbred hulk clan, no Hawkeye, no hero apocalypse, no supervillains taking over the world, no red skull. In the old man Logan comic you also did not have X23, Xavier, Wolverine clone and Logan did not rescue anyone (not even his own family). Also when the head scientist bad guy talks to Logan about Xavier and we get a slight confirmation of what happened and that it was Xavier and someone said it in the comments why would Logan kill 6 if he could kill one.

No, he didn't, Logan would have killed prof x before running around killing 6-7 xmen during a seizure (which we saw how slow it was).

In the comics he did do it while being manipulated and forced to think they were all their enemies. The didn't utilize this story for the movie though likely due to screen time and instead made it Charles

Another dark thing to consider is that Jean would probably be the only one able to Stop it or even communicate with Logan. Imagine she Telepathically talk to Logan to put them out of their misery since they were suffering for so long.

It's definitely a nod to powers of, but it isn't a 1 for one remake. In fact, i think it's a small retcon to show that Logan DIDN'T kill them that it was profx who DEFINITELY did it
