If anyone here is a Gary Vee fan, this is really the essence of a lot of his discussions. Essentially treating a potential customer as well as an actual customer will snowball effect into larger audiences over 6-12 months. In the Gary Vids, he is specifically referencing growing a following via social media but were all playing the same game here - the attention game. Ya gotta get their attention before you can make any sort of pitch. The long-term goal is intrinsically good because it gives off confidence in your brand by kinda saying "Look, heres our product, check it out! If you liked it we have even more extensive stuff for a few dollars!". The premise is that you don't NEED their business because your product does what it says it does. What ya see is what ya get kinda thing. Over the course of time their confidence that your product is good increases because of the lax nature over an extended period of time. I often find myself going BACK to programs, videos, streams etc a year after they've helped me and I realize a lot of my success was based on that information they gave me. Which inclines me to support them.
As Bernie Mac said in Friday: "You've got to GIVE to RECIEVE my brotha!"
