Critical Infrastructure Sectors for ICS/OT Cyber Security

What are critical infrastructure sectors in ICS/OT? Often when new people are interested in learning more about cyber security in this realm, there can be a lot of initial confusion from all the new terms - OT vs ICS vs SCADA vs control systems vs critical infrastructure, etc.

When I think on the importance of cyber in ICS/OT, my main focus is always on the question of "What happens if we lose this facility for a few hours? A few days? A few weeks? A few months?" There is a substantial difference, and impact to the world around us, from a power plant not generating electricity for a few hours versus a few months.

I do like to take the time to look at each of the critical infrastructure sectors as defined by the US government and the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) on how ICS/OT cybersecurity plays a role in each - more in some than others.

In doing so, I recorded a video covering each of the sectors along with a few thoughts on the cyber security ramifications for each, including some real-world cyber-attacks impacting these sectors.
