Well, I have a first run Butter Pat No. 10 glass lid, and it now looks like YETI will finally provide a skillet for it !! Thanks, so much, for this heads-up and overview 😊

Your in-depth comparison is so helpful. I really like the improvements & hope to get one if I can afford it at some point. My regret is that I missed out on the butterscotch lid from BP.

I really like the look of the Yeti skillet. I’ll probably buy one eventually but I’m in no rush

Supposedly they also slightly rolled the underside of the handle for comfort as well..I’ve also heard they improved the cooking surface to season mush faster and easier.

Looks solid, will most likely pick one up.

Lodge just released a few new USA enamel pieces, including an 11 skillet.

It's great to see the improvements. I noticed some machined bottom pans in the yeti promo video where they went to Dennis' house.
He had designs laser etched on them like squids and spider webs, maybe test pieces for this new process.

They better learn how to read upside down, better yet under heat bc I'm not hanging my Butter Pat. It's for cooking😂 Seriously, I do like da Yeti Luis. Da Logo is fire but so is my Butter!!!! Can't go wrong either or in my opinion. Tkx for the review, & keeping it 💯 with us.

Carbon steel is better for camping. OXO makes a very nice one with removable handle.

If you really want to take cast iron, just buy a lodge. It is gonna perform the same.

Ive been cooking with cast iron for 20 years and although I love the look and feel of my antique griswold pans. Lodge pans are perfectly fine.

If you really want a smooth piece of iron find an old wagner. Itll cost less than $200. A Matfer Borgeaout carbon steel pan will also cost less than $100 brand new.

I wouldnt waste my money on this yeti pan.

If you truly want to splurge and waste $200 on an iron piece. Buy a Smithey or an antique Griswold.

This is an awesome comparison. Just what I was looking for to determine if I trust the YETI version. Seems they did a good job. I did see one redditor claim the YETI surface wasn't perfectly smooth and claimed Butter Pat would never have allowed it past quality control.

Pure anecdote, but spooked me. I want to buy before the production changes too much from the original.

What was the price on the 10 before Yeti?

Love the look of the underside of the yeti. I just think the helper handle is ugly. That is why I never bought butterpat.
