I wonder if this is the next big trend, 4000 Hz Polling rates 🤔 now we just need TKL OPTIONS!! Hopefully EVGA or someone is making one :) IT's kinda budget but ONLY if you have the EVGA Elite Membership so I would look into that to MAXIMIZE those savings.

nice review man.. it's currently cost around $65 for the Z20 and $52 for Z15 in my country, so might get either one as my first mechanical keyboard.. though I mainly gonna use it for typing and heard that linear switches were too sensitive for that, so not sure yet..

I liked the fact that you really typed on the keyboard for the sound test. I have seen some just pounding keys down and hitting the key so down fully which isn’t why you buy a mechanical keyboard. As for the polling rate I have read that it’s because of frames going up. At 60fps you have the 16 polling times per frame but on a monitor with a 240hz refresh doing 240fps that would drop to only 4 polling times per frame on the standard 1000hz keyboards. By moving up to 4000hz you can have a super fast refresh with super fast input response. I personally am not really sold on if it’s needed but then again I wasn’t sure I was sold on 120hz monitors until I used one and now I am for 144hz on new monitors and wouldn’t go back to 60hz.

I love full size keyboards. My SteelSeries Apex 7 is full size, even though I did look into getting the TKL version of this same keyboard. It just doesn't feel right to me. I prefer that numpad and a keyboard just doesn't look or feel right without it, IMHO.

I just bought the keyboard and I like it. Much better than my Razer and it's font. I also got it on sale from B stock from EVGA for 35 dollars so I thought it was worth the price and it makes cleaning the dust a lot easier. Razer you have to take the keys off because the keyboard real estate where the keys are is recessed so hair and dust builds up and its very difficult to clean with out taking the keys off. With this the keys sit on a flush platform all across the keyboard so it makes using a can of air to blow the dust and hair out much easier.

I had to register my EVGA 1070 I bought secondhand on ebay for $150 3 uears ago on their site to get thermal pads sent out for it. Turns out that registration also made me eligible for EVGA ELITE. So my K70 LUX RGB of 4-5 years bit the dust and I don't wanna play chicken disassembling it so I ordered a Z15 and a Z20 for a sum total of $157. Not bad for an optical board with passthrough and a hotswap board.

(05:45) You stated, "...now that we are done with the *review* portion...."
All you did for those first almost 6 minutes is basically restate the *specifications* which anyone can read on a product webpage. That's like "reviewing" a movie by just reading the script to people.
What you said AFTER is what I believe almost everyone would consider actual review content, and in that regard...it still wasn't much of an actual review. In other words, *tell us what the specification do NOT tell us* For example, are the macros retained in the program or in the keyboard itself? Same question for lighting profiles. Are the keys and "clicking" consistent? (didn't sound like it, which I would find distracting). How about the attachable wrist rest? Comfy? Does it detach too easily (like when lightly bumped), etc. What about cable flexibility and management? Is it easy to arrange the cable the way you want to? Are the LEDs bright enough to stand out in a well-lit room? Can one just set it up to use a solid color on all the keys and sidebars (e.g. all red, or all green, or all teal? (what's the color range?)) and so on.
You also didn't discuss using the software which is an integral part of using the keyboard in terms of macro and lighting controls. Thank you.

"The EVGA Z20 has a serious issue when using a 4000 Hz polling rate. The spacebar randomly adds extra spaces, making it frustrating to type properly. This issue does not happen at 2000 Hz or lower, so it seems to be a firmware-related problem. I have tried different USB ports, reinstalling drivers, and even removing old HID devices, but nothing fixes it. EVGA needs to release a firmware update to address this problem. Until then, the best option is to use 2000 Hz instead of 4000 Hz. If anyone else is experiencing this, let EVGA know!"

Why don't you tell Corsair you believe it's in their "best interests" they make a TKL k100?

If it's also have a USB-C cable instead of built-in, that would be nice
