Latinos Respond To Being Called 'Latinx'

What is a LatinX? I talked to folks down in Ybor City, Florida to find out - What is a LatinX? Does anybody think the words Latino or Latina are offensive? What's with the X?

In Spanish the feminine and masculine are used to identify people places, objects etc so it is BEYOND stupid to say Latinx because binary is part of the very language spoken by Latinos and Latinas

We Latinos and Latinas speak the same language but have different gender and we share our culture and traditions but referring to us as Latinx is absolutely unacceptable and tries to put two different things that can't be put together put together

I thought they were using the term Latinx as like a low key derogatory that they were trying to pass off as woke or a trendy politically correct term. Because to me, it just sounds gangster and connotes a negative vibe. Like Malcom-X or someone like that. Like it's almost implying that being Latin American means you're part of a gang type community/mentality if that makes sense. I just saw it as racist in that way. So that's why I found it offensive to those people personally because I know quite a few and they're all nice respectable, Christian people with nice families. So this is new to me. I didn't realize it was a stupid gender-neutral thing. That's just even dumber but no less offensive.
