Hallowfall - Music of WoW: The War Within

This is the music that plays generally in Hallowfall, the main zone for the Arathi in the War Within.

I didn't include the music that plays in Void-related areas, and put those in antoher video called "Beledar's Shadow."

Just like with the music in Priory of the Sacred Flame, I love the use of choir in a lot of these themes. The choir is specially great in "Arathi Memorial", I just wish I knew the lyrics to what they're singing.

"The Aegis Wall" theme is so memorable, I love the darker and more serious vibe it has. I can definitely see why Adam featured it so prominently in the main title theme for the War Within.

There's also an interesting use of percussion in "Arathi Airships A" and "Arathi Airships B". Kind of makes it sound more mechanical, like something from Mechagon.

"Lorel's Crossing" really reminds me of Jake's music from Zereth Mortis. The woodwinds and some other similar instruments help with that.

The "Hallowfall" theme from Glenn reminds me of his themes for Zaralek Caverns, although it's got a bit more of a holy feeling to it.

My new "Grizzly Hills" I can literally spend hours sitting, flying around, listening to the music while taking in the sights that this location offers. Truly a masterclass in world building yet again from this game and its designers, artists.

That moment when you hear « Arathi Memorial A » 21:51 for the first time.
I immediatly stopped moving and just stand right where I was… Enjoying a little moment of peace and calm, without even touching my mouse or keyboard.

Then comes the aggro from the mob around…

Arathi Memorial is peak Warcraft music. Haven’t enjoyed a piece in-game as much as this in a long time.

As an music composer I was devastated by low quality of compositions in last 5 years, lets say. But this War Within soundtrack.. I CRIED! 51:38 one of the best blizz composition ever. Tristram [D2 extended edition], Harrogath, The Desert, Starcraft 1 terran theme, some part in Nazjatar OST, Lut Gholein and now this. I wasnt expecting it. 10/10

1:01:26 is probably my favorite OST out of the entire hallowfall area. I remember hearing it for the first time when I was in some nature area looking around for bismuth. I parked my dracthyr there for a solid 30 seconds just listening to the music.

I can’t put my finger on why I love some zones so much more than others. I’ve played for a very long time and I’ve had some favorites, like Stormpeaks, and this zone is instantly one 0f my favorites it feels nostalgic because of the lore I really love it

The cinematography of this zone and the music make this a very unique place in World of Warcraft. I farm mining nodes here very often and I never once felt wanting to leave this place. Kudos for Blizzard.

I've heard so much of all the Mereldar ones by sitting there watching Beledar. The game plays out A&B when its void and it evokes feelings of sadness and lonliness while waiting for the light to return.

One of the best zones they've done. WoW music is generally always really good, but Hallowfall is special. The Aegis Wall themes are some of my favourite pieces in the entirety of WoW. Foreboding, dark, but resilient, proud and hopeful.
