IES 2023 Math Summit - “For Good Measure: The 2026 Mathematics Framework for the National Assessment of Educational Progress”
Description: The data from the National Assessment for Educational Progress (NAEP)—also known as The Nation’s Report Card—continues to be valuable to policymakers, educators, and other leaders to inform policy and practice to improve achievement for all students. This is why the 2026 NAEP Mathematics Framework— which will guide the content of math assessments—matters, especially amid historic drops in scores at every level and across every skill/knowledge area in math. This presentation will provide highlights on what is new about this framework and how it reflects educational research, policy, and practice over the past two decades and best positions NAEP to measure progress.
Session Presenters: Mark Miller, Cheyenne Mountain Junior High
