Force India's inaugural Formula 1 season was one with glimpses of speed and a lot of hard lessons. For Adrian Sutil the heartbreak at the Monaco Grand Prix and the loss of a 4th place was the sad highlight of the season. The two cars frequently occupied the last row of the grid but in race pace things seemed to improve, albeit for mechanical failures destroying the drivers efforts. Sutil had 11 retirements from 18 starts and eventually didn't manage to score any points.
* Melbourne: A spin during Q1 damaged his chassis so he had to start from the pit lane. He retired from the race on lap 8 with hydraulics issues.
* Malaysia: Engine problems lost him valuable practice time. In the race he had a great start from 20th up to 14th before his second straight DNF from hydraulics problems.
* Bahrain: Sutil gets involved in a crash at the start and after his unscheduled stop drops to last.
* Spain: A misjudgement leads to a crash with Coulthard and eventually Vettel.
* Turkey: Sutil collided with Vettel and was forced to pit for a new front wing.
* Monaco: An amazing race from 18th to 4th place was ruined by Raikkonen with less than 10 laps to go.
* Canada: A gearbox problem introduced us to the famous “Sutil sprint”.* Great Britain: Spun off into retirement.
* Hungary: A very dramatic brake failure put him out of the race with 8 laps to go.
* Europe: A pit lane start (due to a gearbox change) and a crash on Sunday made for a miserable GP.
* Singapore: An unfortunate Sutil crashes while trying to avoid Massa.
* Japan: retired on lap nine with a puncture caused by running over carbon fibre shards.
* China: He spun out and retired with gearbox problems.
