Climate change: World's first year-long breach of key 1.5C warming limit | BBC News

For the first time, global warming has exceeded 1.5C across an entire year, according to the EU's climate service.

World leaders promised in 2015 to try to limit the long-term temperature rise to 1.5C, which is seen as crucial to help avoid the most damaging impacts.

This first year-long breach doesn't break that landmark "Paris agreement", but it does bring the world closer to doing so in the long-term.

Urgent action to cut carbon emissions can still slow warming, scientists said.

I'd be far more receptive to the policy surrounding climate change, if so many greedy and corruot people werent profiting from said policies. All the while enjoying exemptions for their private jets, yachts, and mega mansions with heated swimming pools.

What devestating news.
This will surely mean increased prices for all consumer goods, even more increased prices for all our utilities, increased travel costs across the board, and is bound to extend waiting times for doctors and dentists across the country.
And it's all our own fault 🤦‍♂ ( I knew I should have decommisioned the oil well in my back garden and grounded my fleet of planes but I didn't know _this_ would happen 🤷‍♂)

I wonder how much CO2 Harry's Flights made for his 30mins meeting with the King?
Will he offset that by planting a few trees i doubt that very much.

Strangely, in previous warm periods, the tree line was around 200km closer to the north pole, the Romans grew grapes close to the Scottish border, the Vikings could grow crops (and trees grew where there are now glaciers) in Iceland. Oh how I long for those warm periods to return. This channel keeps spewing out alarmist propaganda.

Hopefully we'll get a summer this year then, last year was very disappointing.

As soon as I saw the headline, I knew it was news from an untrustworthy source. The BBC - how the mighty has fallen!

This appeared on my feed right next to a forecast of record snowfalls in the UK...

I might be more receptive to the propaganda if you did not have a policy preventing any balanced discussion about it rather than one sided endless planet burning doom and gloom.

Warmer weather means less deaths, heating off more, lower fuel bills therefore less use of fossil fuels, isnt that what we are aiming for????

We still have another half of a degree before the temperature gets back to near normal pre 1300's temperatures.

It's reassuring to see Ghana's farmers investing heavily in greenhouses to increase food production yields. Global warming in Africa looks different to here.
