Simon Cowell 'devastated' over the death of Liam Payne

Simon Cowell, who was a judge on the X Factor and signed One Direction to his label, has posted on Instagram saying he is "devastated" and "empty" after the death of Liam Payne.

He goes on to say that "you never really know how you feel about someone until a moment like this happens".

What a beautiful compassionate tribute, I could see Simon speaking the words as I listened to them be read out. Since the birth of Simons own son, we have seen a softening in Simon, his job requires him to be honest and cut through the b/s and in earlier years, this made him look "heartless" in some people's eyes. However, I 100% believe every word came from a good place, the fact that he and Liam got together a year ago, highlights there was a friendship and a connection.
