‘General Hospital’ actor Johnny Wactor fatally shot in LA

Los Angeles police are searching for the men they believe shot and killed 37-year-old “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor in an attempted robbery. NBC’s Morgan Chesky reports for TODAY.

I never saw him on General Hospital, but I worked with Johnny on an independent film shoot last year. A very decent guy… helpful, humble, friendly. He cooked breakfast for the whole crew when there was no budget for catering. And he was a real pro on set. It’s hard to imagine anyone would do this to him. Very, very sad.

The LAPD is babysitting the graffitied Oceanwide Plaza which is just a few blocks north of where this happened on a 24/7 schedule, even tho DeLeon (city council) said it's not their job to look after a private property development.
But gangs stealing CATs and murdering people apparently is a lower priority.

he was a lovely person. warm and embracing. funny, kind, caring, smart, very chivalrous. he had this infectious kind of personality that you instantly felt like he was a life long friend. he just had this spark and the desire to be as genuine to others as he could. i'm honored to have met him a few times and to have shared some awesome fun laughing memories with him.

There NEEDS to be a new law signed immediately that if you accept used catalytic converters you will go to jail. That would stop this immediately. Every converter needs to be new and a serial number can be identified, anyone buying one needs to report it if a used one is installed and doesn't match a registry of new ones that are in a system. Or else, this will keep going on.

Coworker of mine had a similar experience in broad daylight in Oklahoma at a grocery market car park. He wasn't shot but had to replace the converter. Apparently it's a thing everywhere.

You never confront people who are in the process of committing a crime..you call the police, unfortunately Johnny didn't realize what they were doing until it was too late, RIP and may God comfort the family

This is because our state has become so liberal and our current DA isn’t prosecuting crimes. This catalytic converter craze is out of control, and nothing seems to stop it. If these people are found will they actually bring charges, even though is was murder? With this DA and his team highly unlikely. Crime has risen across all LA county.
