Asante Sana is a collaboration between Kenyan singer songwriter Tetu Shani and Afro fusion artist Fadhilee Itulya.
Tetu's plaintive broken vocals are a sharp contrast to the powerful and angry vocals of Fadhilee and is a reflection of the range of emotions felt by working class Kenyans after the loss of jobs brought about by the Kenyan government's decision to lock down the country as part of their Covid protocols.

"I hear it coming. The train it comes for me," sings Tetu revealing the hope that still remains in the face of great adversity.
"A one way ticket..but I have no money," encapsulates the devastation felt when that hope is dashed yet again.
The song is performed in a folkloric style with strongly syncopated drums and the Omutibo guitar fingerpicking technique that hails from Western Kenya.
