The Jewel Robinsons and The Observatory Megaproject

The Gokongwei-owned Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) will build a P25-billion architectural icon in Mandaluyong City that could match the grandeur of Taipei 101, the Sydney Opera House, and the Marina Bay Sands.

The Jewel will rise on the 2.5-hectare property at the corner of EDSA and Pioneer Street where the Robinsons Forum Mall once stood. It is a commercial property with four office towers and a mall.

The complex, set to rise on the grounds of the former Forum Robinsons Mall on the corner of Pioneer Street and EDSA, will have four office towers, with a mall linking them together at the center. Each tower is named after a cut of diamond – Asscher, Trilliant, Marquise, and Peruzzi – symbolic of architectural brilliance.

The Observatory a 4.5 hectares project will rise within the Mandaluyong-Pioneer Central Business District Zone and at the middle of three major Central Business Districts.

The first tower of the company’s The Observatory in Mandaluyong could take five or six years to finish construction.

Usually it takes five to six years since this is a high-rise building. But with the simultaneous construction. The overall project may be completed in maybe around 15 years. It will have eight towers plus one office tower. 9 towers to be built in 10 to 15 years. All of the towers have retail spaces at the bottom. For the office towers it will be leased.

Thank you for featuring Mandaluyong City especially Greenfield District. Yes, marami pa project and future developments ang stretch ng Mandaluyong to Ortigas. Happy to see na nabubuhay na ulit ang mga businesses sa Green Field at may mga nagoopen na mga cafes, bar at retaurants with international tastes. Marami narin mga restau at food hub sa Mandaluyong ang na nagoofer ng quality international food with mixed culture (try the Weekend Market in Greenfield Open park). This can be a part sa Mandaluyong Development, pag embrace sa mixed culture cuisine like sa food tourism ng Singapore.

I am excited for these projects in Pioneer Mandaluyong. I used to live in Mandaluyong for 12 years and I have seen first hand the massive developments in that area. I am also curious on what developments will happen on the other side of EDSA on that area. In front of the used to be Pioneer Mall are 7 eleven Jollibee Wendys Mcdonalds now they have barricaded that area too so im curious what developments will take place in that area.

Mandaluyong is not featured that much compared to BGC Makati or Ortigas but I think with these developments taking place it will definitely get that spotlight soon

There’s nothing iconic in a box-like structure. Kung gusto nila iconic, dapat ang I-hire nilang arkitekto ay iyong mga katulad ni Santiago Calatrava na maraming nagawang iconic structure tulad ng Oculus sa New York, Greece Olympic Stadium, Twisting Torso in Sweden at marami pang iba. It’s time for the designer of Robinson buildings to think outside the box.

the mayor of the city better use the tax money collected from all the condos and businesses into fixing the ugly river bank, modernizing garbage collection and build vertical affordable housings for the slum dwellers.

The government should HELP FINANCE power grid companies to place their cables UNDERGROUND. Otherwise, Manila still looks VERY UGLY 😊

Bilis ng mga residential and commercial developments pero ang mass transit development napakabagal. The govt should put a very competent leader sa DOTr gaya ni Tugade. Dapat ifine yung developers and contractors na mabagal nagdeliver ng projects.

Parang hindi kaaya aya ang location, malabo siguro maging iconic yan, matatabunan lang ng traffic sa EDSA at ng iba pang building sa paligid.
