In the first episode of Top Tip Tuesdays we'll show you how to animate X-Particles trails to give them a natural wiggle and flow.
We'll also show you how to use formulae and shaders to control the look and how to create a mesh from xpTrails or any spline object using xpSplineMesher.

Love the full length tutorials but these "quick" tips are so great. I kindly ask that you make more! :)

On a recent project i discovered a shortcoming of the xptrail related to deformation. I had a pair of animated hands that needed trails to draw from the fingertips over the entire surface of the hands. It wasnt possible because the the trails dont stick to animated geometry. The trails can only recognize the location where the particle birthed its segment, so it diesnt move after that time. It would be great if Insydium could solve that problem for a future update

Thanks for the tutorials, but do you update the sample project used for each project?

I am trying to get connected Trails spline (by distance using the XP trail in Max Number Within Distance) to be curved rather than linear - thought this might help, but I can get the Trail Deformer to really effect the splines this way. Basically attempting to create a plexus effect, but have the connected trails look more like mycelium than linear direct connections between particles. Any advice?

The trail deformer burried into the Utility drop down menu and not inside the xpTrail Generator. That makes sense! Of course!

its looks great and all but it would be nice to get some normal tips or tutorials … everything your showing is only usable in Instagram daily post and not real life projects... I would be glad to see how to work with xpOceans and create a large ocean with a boat and not small patch of 2x2 cm of water or any other real life example... I bought X-Particles for liquid and fire simulation and its just unusable...
