Today on the channel, courtesy of the lovely Paul, I get to drive an Aston Martin DB12. Billed as a thorough re-engineering of the DB11, outside, inside and under the bonnet there 's a lot going on - but is it enough?

Honesly i don't mind old parts on new Cars, who cars if the door handle is 20 years old if it works. Most stuff made today compared to 20 years ago has dropped in quality to increase profits.

I hate seeing brands like Aston, Ferrari, Rolls Royce replacing their gorgeous watch-like clusters for hideous screens for the sake of following trends. Only implementations I like are in the 911 and Lexus LC-500/RCF

Aston wanted their new road car to reflect their F1 teams relative pace, and therefore gave the infotainment a half to one second lag.

The car will age better than the shirt.

The dust on the center console is out of control!

Imagine living the kind of life that allows you to honestly say, "I don't drive my new Aston Martin DB12 much because I just don't feel like it."

The dust on the central display looks like the dandruff on the shoulders of a geography teacher’s corduroy jacket.

Ive just bought a db11 launch edt. Last of the v12 and put the amr upgrade. 10k miles 72k all in. Value for money i am more than happy. Its an absolute rocket, balance and handling is insane. The sound is incredible. Looks are based on opinion obviously but i love the look. Interior is a bit underwhelming, but with the B&O system and carplay upgrade its just fine inside. £72k, one hell of a car!!!!

I had a DB11 AMR following me today and you know what, I thought it looked excellent.

100% agree. For a third of the price, I’d get a slightly used DB11 AMR, a 2018 Vanquish S, a V12 Vantage S or even a Rapide AMR. Nothing compares to a V12

I think it looks wonderful, inside and out. I also like the rear end and think it matches the front perfectly. And 680bhp will do nicely, thank you, even with a hint of lag. The fact that I'm not that struck on the Roma, looks wise, makes the decision even easier.

I find it somewhat amusing that Aston skipped DB8 on the grounds of “we don’t want people to be confused and think it’s a V8” but had no such trouble when naming a DB11 successor with a V8… (and yes, I’m an Aston owner and love the brand).

I don't often disagree with but in this instance I do. I own a late DB9 and it is indeed a looker - Maybe the best looking car ever. The DB11 was OK, but the 12 looks incredible and the couple I've driven represent a very modern experience. It's not confused, it's just more modern and less raw.

Well done for picking up on the turbo lag issue and the cost cutting - the biggest being the deletion of the lovely, shut-line free clamshell bonnet.

These new Aston Martin models have revived the passion in this British brand...I want one (or two)

I love my DB11 and finance permitting, I thought my next car might be a Vantage, but the more I see the DB12 the more I like it. In fact, I think it’s absolutely beautiful.

I’ve had two Rapide S’s and a Vanquish. The DB 12 is a great car on a test drive. Mercedes power plant changes things with the curve, no doubt. But it’s still exciting. Jay Emm can be strangely off the mark sometimes.

I think you are being unnecessarily critical, it's beautiful from all points

Absolutely love the new Vanquish! Definitely a bit different, but I think it's gorgeous.
