Meeting with the Filipino Community 01/20/2023

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. acknowledged the sacrifices and unwavering commitment of his countrymen for their families back home, as he spent time with the Filipino community in a gathering after his successful participation to the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Switzerland.

In his remarks delivered on 20 January 2023 in Zurich, the President
talked about his productive participation to the WEF in Davos, where he successfully staged the current state of the country in the global platform and recognized the contributions of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) for their remittances that helped drive the country’s economy.

The Chief Executive lightly shared that most of the personalities he met are acquainted with a Filipino, who may be a colleague, a nurse, and longtime domestic service provider, among others.

“Dagdagan ko ‘yong pasasalamat ko, hindi lamang sa inyong ginagawa ngunit sa inyong tuluyang pagpaganda ng tingin ng buong mundo sa Pilipino, sa inyong magandang ginagawa, sa inyong magandang trabaho, sa inyong magandang pagkatao na ipinapakita ninyo sa inyong mga kasamahan dito,” he expressed.

The Philippine Embassy in Berne, Switzerland noted that a number of Filipinos living in countries bordering Switzerland registered for today’s gathering and expressed eagerness to meet President Marcos Jr.
