'Unplanned' movie interview with Live Action

The star of the upcoming "Unplanned" movie, Ashley Bratcher, sits down for an interview with Live Action's Alison Centofante.

This was a fantastic interview! New subsciber. My husband and I saw the movie Monday evening in a suburb of Cleveland and the theatre was PACKED. We couldn't believe so many people came out on a Monday evening! The movie was so powerful. Certain scenes had me in tears, but this story needed to be told. I have been friends with men throughout my life far more than I have women, It has been that way for me since 6th grade (which for me was still elementary school), when the girls I had been friends, grown up with and considered my best friends all ganged up on me, spread awful rumors & eventually waited for me & jumped me. I never trusted girls much after that, but one thing I have been around a lot of is the other side of this debate. I have seen how much men, some of them my best friends were DEVASTATED by not being in this decision. I have seen more guys cry because even though they NEVER thought they wanted a child, or were ready - they were NEVER EVEN GIVEN the chance to say YES, or they were told “it’s not your body, it’s not your decision” ... One of my friends offered to pay FOR EVERYTHING, all her medical bills, hospital, and take care of THEIR CHILD after it was born. He pleaded, said he would take 100% financial responsibility - during and after she gave birth, he would do whatever she wanted. For about a month she went along with it, then all the sudden she was no longer pregnant, told him she had a miscarriage, but she had an abortion. Her parents had told him what she had done, they wanted her to keep the child too, even if they and my friend raised him/her. My friend was so devastated, I felt helpless, that changed him.
I believe one of the biggest mistakes we have made is taking AWAY the man’s decision in this process, I understand not all men act the way some of my friends did - I saw some who could have cared less. But most of them cared deeply, EVERY SINGLE ONE of them are fathers now and DANG GOOD ONES!!! They are also Pro-life.
I wasn’t always Pro-life, I believed the decision should be up to a women AND A HER PARTNER and Dr. I was NEVER for the “My Body, my choice” - I never fully understood that, yes I know as women we physically carry a child, but emotionally this is something that greatly affects both people, and it takes TWO people to make it happen. I obviously don’t feel that both parties should have a say in cases of Rape or incest, and I honestly I never even imagined abortions after the 1st trimester as being an option.
In fact my sister worked in OB/GYN & labor & delivery as a Medical Assistant FOR MANY YEARS and she would tell me the worst days of her job was when something happened to a baby and they had to preform a D&C but it was because the baby had died in the womb - NEVER because the mother wanted it. When they had to deliver a baby early they DID EVERYTHING they could to SAVE THE BABY, my sister said the days that followed those were also hard, especially if the baby didn’t make it. You did EVERYTHING you could, the parents were devastated, the nurses, and the Dr’s..
Anyways I am really looking forward to this movie, Abbey Story is so inspiring, and I have to admit this something I am passionately for - LIFE. I thank you, for everything you do, everyday to educate people so that Abortion is not illegal it’s UNIMAGINABLE..
