SCP-009 : Red Ice

Description : SCP-009 is the amount of about 3700 L of a red liquid. Every property of the SCP-009 is similar to water, except for two things. First, the reaction to the temperature is the exact opposite of every material on Earth : minus than -100°C, SCP-009 is in his gaz state, between -100°C and 0°C, it's in his liquid state, and above 0°C it's solid. There's a theory telling that SCP-009 is from another dimension where the physics laws are reversed. The second property is that every object composed of water having a contact with SCP-009 is absorbed by it. Thus, anything made of water becomes as the same material as SCP-009. Those two properties are very dangerous for any human touching it, because the water of the human body will turn into red ice if any physical contact is made. The transformation of water into red ice is also very long, thus the victim of SCP-009 will suffer for several hours before dying of internal bleeding because of the crystals piercing vitals.

Discovery : SCP-009 was discovered in Alaska by a native tribe. They were looking for a group of hunters, wich they retrieved, blocked into red ice. Their corpses had facial expression of pain and suffering. The autopsy revealed death by internal bleeding. The temperature also makes think that the death was retarded, thus the suffering was longer than usual.

Containtment : Due to his nature, the samples of SCP-009 are contained into a room covered by an alloy resisting to extreme temperatures. SCP-009 mustn't be exposed to temperatures superior to 0°C and every liquid is forbbiden in 30 m around the cell. The cell is constantly watched by cameras with heat captors. If the temperature gets higher than -5°C, the cell must be confined and vaporized by fire extinguishers until it gets to -30°C. Any person getting inside the cell aside D-Class subjects must have a protection suit, wich must be dehydrated after every use. Lethal forces might be engaged if any person from the Foundation is contaminated, but must be far enough to avoid any contact with the target. Searches are still going for the use of SCP-009 in physics uses such as cold fusion.
