This has American Jake Long vibes written all over it but it’s not that story. The story is based off of a Chinese folklore book about the monkey king. I also love how the Chinese culture and characters are represented in this series. Can’t wait to see all the episodes on May 24th! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

As an ABC who doesn’t speak a lick of Chinese…I felt that scene.
Edit: also my family is from Hong Kong and teachers (back in 80s) were puzzled why Chinese person from Hong Kong and another from Taiwan don’t speak the same language.

My preteen and I just watched the first season and we really enjoyed it. The coming of age story, mythology, all of it was done very well. We can’t wait for Season 2!

I am a 42-year-old woman. I absolutely loved this show to the point where I am watching it over again.❤❤❤❤ I have watched so many of the monkey King movies, and just to see this side of the monkey King where he has a son it’s amazing❤
