I thought this was well done. My kids and I found it very interesting. We did wonder, however, about the fate of the horses on the Maple Leaf.

I would love to move back to central florida..i live in Phila right now. Never knew thay Florida had a monument at Gettysburg but i took a picture of it. I dont know why im so interested in these really rural areas during the colonial period and early american history. Like Louisiana, upper Canada, new Mexico/California, New Andalusia. The frontiers of empire i guess you could say.

I thought this was going to be about the civil war in Florida? I see the countless war crimes against the people of the South is conveniently left out, if that's the Florida historical society it's a sad bunch... I'm wondering if Florida is even a southern state after what I just listened to...slavery was prevelant in the north also and didn't end in 1865 but continued until 1868 in states that remained neutral during the war

they don't talk about the black confederate soldiers..the Confederate army was integrated and they served with the white soldiers..the union however didn't allow them to be in white units they also received lower pay in the union army, the Confederate army paid black and white personal equally..unlike the union army..Lincoln and most union generals despised them, read Lincolns and Gen. Sherman view on blacks..the majority of white union soldiers despised them also
