Is there a better storyteller than Mcoist? Not sure there is….Had the pleasure of his company one evening in Houston (I’m not a Rangers fan by the way)…he was infectious, humble, respectful & a lot more…It says a lot that most of the Celtic fans also respect him…Truly a national treasure of a man.

Graham Souness still has a presence ! We had a holiday in Portugal and he was in the same hotel, he was low - key and he kinda carried an aura of self assurance. Still a fit fella with legs like treetrunks .

Souness, the greatest Scottish midfielder of the modern era. Winning 3 European Cups is an incredible achievement. A legend in Liverpool, a God in Glasgow.

I remember meeting Graham when I was a wee lad Back in the 80's spent over an hour with him talking about Rangers. The man was an absolute legend and Gentleman. Him and Ally are my 2 favourite players at Rangers of all time. Rangers for life

What a great story shame footballers don't tell us more of these stories that I'm sure happen all the time. Graeme wasn't just a hard man footballer he was a proper midfielder with real world class talent.

When he was at my club as Boss of Blackburn he signed Andy Cole and the went on to sign Dwight Yorke aswell to partner him ...anyway in a open training session at Ewood the squad were playing 5 a side and rotating the squad but Yorke was out partying and being late for training etc ..Souness had a word with him on the pitch in front of fans and Yorke upset him about something so then Souness joined in the footy against Yorke team and nearly ended his career with a thumping tackle in front of bemused fans indeed

Best midfield player I've seen in British football. I'm a Liverpool fan and watched him from start to finish . I've seen them all from 1970.

Fantastic time for Scottish football. As an Ayr and Aberdeen supporter, I would go to a few Rangers games with my Gers-supporter pal. Loved seeing some of the greats that rolled up at Ibrox.

Rangers under Souness did pre-season training at Jordanhill College. I and my colleagues witnessed their version of the 'no holds barred' version of tackling that Mr McCoist relates here.

I have no idea how those blokes avoided serious injuries such as broken legs nor career-ending cruciate damage.

Souness was the epitome of gallus. Jock Stein (and some lesser mortals) recognised his 'class'. Others also called him 'that magnificent Bast*rd'.
