Hey friends! Excited to share some updates with you, including this 4x4 sprinter van I’ve been calling home while my van gets rebuilt :) Thanks for being here ♡

0:00 Good morning from Mammoth Lakes
01:00 On the road again, Alabama Hills
02:48 Life update
04:15 Story time
06:15 Mini Van Tour!
08:30 Pros and cons of the van
10:44 Stormy sunset in the Sierras
12:30 This was terrifying

Hey :) I’m Christian Schaffer, and I’ve lived on the road full-time since May 2018. This journey began in 2013 when I left the corporate world to build my career as an outdoor adventure & travel photographer. After 14 months of SUV living - I bought the van I now call home. Van life enables me to experience and document the beauty of our natural world, while also having my home and office nearby. My hope is that by sharing my own personal highs and lows along this (sometimes) wild journey, you might be inspired to hit the road or spend more time outdoors. Maybe one day I'll see you out on that open road 🚐

**My van is a 2019 Ram ProMaster 1500 High Roof, 136" WB with 54K miles**

No matter where you film, I always think ‘Wow! It is so beautiful there!’ You are a phenomenal photographer - you bring out the beauty everywhere you travel. 😊

My family is traveling through this area on the way to Yosemite next month. I remembered your videos on the Alabama Hills, which inspired me to see them in the first place. So I decided to watch the video again.

As always, nice work.

My grandparents were from Lone Pine, my aunt and uncle lived right over that mound in Alabama Hills - I knew every place you were, did an Easter service right up from your parking spot near the Whitney Portal. my childhood summer visits brought back to life … thank you 🥲

When I see places such as this, I often wonder what people in the 1800s thought when travelling through with their covered wagons. Absolutely beautiful!

Gosh, the composing of the scenes - connection of pictures and music... always knock me off. True art and beauty... and the twist at the end is really scary. Thx for sharing

Etes-Vous une chat dans la nuit? Oh my!!! Quite scary when you hear a bump in the night. The van is
quite wild with a push-button bed & turn table drawer - Wow! You are living the Van Life Christian -
Merci encore!

I’ll hear that lion scream in my nightmares for sure. I can’t imagine actually experiencing that moment.

Loved that brief shot of the wind on the fringe of the blanket! Nice touch!

I love how often I learn of new music via your videos. The part around ~10 min where you put the record on and then show the clouds and stuff...epic.

I really like the way you fade out the music and bring in the sound of the van. Its such a unique transition that adds an element of suspense that hooks you in to the rest of the video. Not sure if thats a signature thing you do but its a nice touch.

That whole ending scene with the screeching and running around in the dark and panicked rush to get inside - I've had a few dates end like that ...😁😁😁😁
