Have you really used the device? There‘s a horrible noise coming from the rear audio outlet when the computer is switched off. I sent back the unit and received another which shows the same behavior, so it seems to be a general issue….

I read somewhere that devices of this form factor with the Mac Mini M4 prevent proper heat dissipation. What about this?
It would be nice to have tests with clear indication of temperatures with and without the device.

There simply isn't a problem, people who do not work with Mac keep treating Mac like a PC.
FYI, you don't switch off a Mac, you put it to sleep and reboot after big updates.
Macs consume like 0.1 watts at the plug when in sleep and they rarely need to be rebooted.
You switch them off only when going on vacation or long periods without use.
Sleep never locks up on a Mac unlike Windows where 7 out of 10 times the PC wont wake up or only show a black screen.
Also Windows PC's are not all the same and may still pull lots of power at the plug, a problem that only exists on PC hardware.
Also the Mac mini is mostly passive cooled, but when the fan kicks in it is best not to obstruct the intake.
