I'm all for living life the way you want but to put it in perspective I'm paying $2, 030 a month on a mortgage for a 5 bedroom house. I still drive my 2004 camry i got from my grandma who was the first owner and just keep fixing it when things break, no car note and i never intead on getting one. Just buy your cars cash, if that means you can only afford a $2000 beater then so be it and fix it up the way you want.

Good on you, letting people know the real cost. Give it 5 years, and you can add another $200 per month for maintenance. Just be careful in the meantime. My buddy did that with a brand new f150. When his mom passed, it was rent or the truck, but he tried to swing both til it put him into proposal. They took his truck, auctioned it off, and he had to rebuild his credit from scratch while paying off the proposal. Fucked up his life for a few years. You seem smart enough, but so was he. Enjoy your ride, and don’t make his mistake.
