GAMSAT Section 1: How I Went From Failing to 'Not Too Bad'

Hey everyone! Section 1 of the GAMSAT (Graduate Medical School Admissions Test), the hardest section to improve on? I think so.

In this video, I run through how to prepare for section of the GAMSAT, and more importantly, how I was able to improve my section 1 score by 12 points between my first GAMSAT sit to my 5th sit.

I also finished my first year of medical school (yipee) and am planning on making more GAMSAT/productivity/medical school content in the coming months.

Khan Academy has a section under the "test prep" (under the MCAT) section that has a whole area focused on this kind of thinking. You read a passage and answer questions about it. Very useful.

Would actually be great to see Zuni replying to us in the comments sections! Maybe he's still finishing that cake of his.

Super helpful video dude, thanks! I find S1 comes quite naturally to me and I consistently get mid-high 60's in practice tests (which will be more than enough for me), would you still recommend this strategy and try to max out on this section (and S2 to a lesser degree) or really put the time into S3? I have a Science degree so I have no doubt I have the knowledge but I get quite intimidated by S3 questions 🤔

What kind of resources or mediums did you use to read shorter texts of difference types? For example, I found my weak points were mainly prose and Non-fiction philosophical or history texts.

I just did my first practise test paper 1 and I got 32/75 under timed conditions. I feel so upset considering I did two past papers and I’m a social science grad 😭 I’m ashamed
