Gabe, the archeological museum of Heraklion won a European award for best museum. You should definitely visit it. It’s very close to your hotel. The Museum of Heraklion has a unique collection of Minoan art, mosaics, wall paintings & fresco’s and a lot of golden artifacts.

I'm too self conscious to walk around talking (to myself) and pointing out objects while people are looking at me. I appreciate that you go through all that to present interesting videos.

Absolutely worth to visit Heraklion. This is no so crowd and noisy place as: Chania or Rethymnon. You can feel the greek life. During the weekend the street is almost empty, almost every shop is closeed.

We loved Heraklion when we went, it's a little rougher around the edges than Chania but it's more of a "real" city. I would ddefinitely recommend, and of course Knossos is only a short(ish) cab ride away. :) BTW then museum in the city center is one of the best.

Iraklio is the modern Greek name and Heraklion is the ancient Greek name of the city. That's the difference. I was there October 1st to 6th and had a great time. First of all, I love cities, so we differ there. I live in a city and I don't find noise or crowds off-putting. We saw Knossos, took the bus there and back (for 1.70 Euros btw). Then we rented a car and saw Phaistos (a smaller Knossos with less tourists) and swam at Kommos beach on the south of the island. Then we spent the day in Agio Nikolaos in the eastern part of the island. The highways are easy to navigate and we found that Google Maps worked better than Apple maps. I stayed at the same part of Heraklion at the Atrion Hotel. It was a good visit.

You make us visit so many different places in your unique way, and that's why I like your videos. I think you show us just enough when it comes to food related stuff, with the menus, prices and what you are having. There are travel vloggers who are much more "food oriented, " but you are not one of them, period😊. Great video quality, btw, the GoPro7 seems ok .

Best tour video I’ve found...thank you! We’re going to live in Heraklion next year. 17 years retired in Canada quite enough so we’re off to the island of Crete. We have a friend there to help with everything. Can’t wait!

Ok, i need to be the smartsass again. The greek letter ITA is written H, and pronounced like an i, so in greek it is written Heraklio and pronounced Iraklio. Someone not greek translated it Heraklion, but it is not. Was that understandable??

I was stationed at the Souda Bay Naval Base in the 80s. We made trips to Heraklion for supplies (to the Air Force Base there); but I never got to walk around the town at all, but thanks to you, now I have :-)

Yeah no need for food commentary other than the brief ones you give, so I agree with your reasoning. Plenty of other food channels on YouTube and the content you give us is great enough anyway. Really enjoying viewing your Greek travels.

I will be going to Crete this year and want to know where I can shop after disembarking at the cruise ship port. I was following your as you walked towards the ocean area but you did not mention what street you were on. It had many stores. If you or anyone can kindly let me know what street and I can google it from the port. Thank you
