Finger detangling has made a huge difference for me.

My tip: Learn to be a bit flexible with your routine by listening to what your hair actual needs at the moment vs just going through the motions. Example: Perhaps you always detangle at a certain stage in your wash day routine i.e while pre-pooing. Well, maybe the product you’re using that day isn’t giving you the best slip at the pre-poo level. Instead of forcing a potentially damaging detangling session, do it at the conditioning stage instead. Or at whatever stage makes more sense than the one that clearly isn’t working in your favor at the time. BTW Love your content, thx for the helpful info! 💝💝

That pre-pooing is a game changer! Ever since you advised that in some older videos, I have seen a difference!

Great Tips girl...jojoba is a great slippery oil to detangle hair like I said in one of my videos (sealing, penetrating and lubricating oil). And yes girl... Shampoo is for the scalp and conditioner is on hair. I dont know why people like to detangle their hair with shampoo. Shampoo is not to detangle your hair....
And you said to saturate hair with conditioner, this is something a lot of people do not know. Some people apply hair mask or conditioner like it was oil. No saturation is the key so the conditioner can do is job of detangling.
Something I just learned in my research, Native American love love sunflower and swear by it as one of the oil to moisturize and seal their hair. They have very long braided hair.😉
Great inside Sis, like always

I have wavy hair but I still love your videos because you’re a chemist. I am tired of other YouTubers who keeps spitting nonsense.

The 1 thing that have changed my hair routine is sectioning off my crown area. My crown scalp area was sore/tender, itchy and the hair was breaking off (thinning). It all went away when I started to shampoo/condition/moisturize my hair in 5 sections instead of 4.

Pre-poo was the game changer for me! Thanks to your videos I’m smarter about which oils I use for pre-poo vs oils I use to seal🙌🏾

This was so helpful! What really helped to keep moisture in my hair after washing has been applying leave-in, then putting on a shower cap to help that moisture stay in until I'm ready to apply my creams or gel.

I definitely can agree with massaging a liberal amount of conditioner in your hair after shampooing. It’s made a world of difference for me! Also, doing a hot oil treatment on my scalp WHILE deep conditioning my strands and letting your leave-in conditioner sit under a plastic cap for a few minutes before styling. Game changers for me!

Great video ---I am excited!!! I am on the right track. I pre-poo my dry hair with coconut oil, Red Palm Oil, Jamician Black Castor Oil, Reg Castor Oil and Avocado mixture I made up and detangle with the kazmaleje paddle comb into 4 sections, then dampen hair with aloa vera juice and let it merinate for 30+ minutes with a plastic cap/towel --then I proceed to wash day. This has changed my hair, Ms Ruby, for the better!!!!

Hi my name is April (hair community: Hi, April). I am guilty of putting globs of shampoo directly on my hair strands. 😔

Prepooing the night before or hours before I plan to wash on my wash day has been so helpful.

I place my shampoo in an applicator bottle with a long nozzle top in a 1:4 shampoo to water ration. It allows me to place the shampoo directly onto my scalp. This makes it easier for me. 🙂

I agree, one of the things I saw give me improvement is pre-pooing with warm coconut oil (and not just a few drops...) and while I put it on I finger detangle. I am on the higher porosity side and it makes a difference on my hair (coarse, type 3a/b).

Working in 6-8 sections has helped my wash day routine big time

For a nursing mother with another extra vibrant child, and still, I'm schooling, I don't have time for finger detangling at all.
However, I use my shampoo according to need (clarify, chelate...) But both are moisturising.
Two things I do on my wash day that has changed the game are;
1. Ever since I read on Naturalhairrules about Applying Rinse Out Conditioner on Steamed Deep Conditioner, it has Cut My Wash Day in Half!

2. I also Experience Tons Of Moisture, and I'm able to Detangle In The Shower with my Wide Tooth Comb and out With My Ez Brush.

3. Investing in the EZ Brush and Leave-in/Styler With Film-forming Humectants and Fatty Alcohols has changed the game for me.
4. I've also started using Grease to seal the ends of my hair.

Thanks for all your beautiful videos. May God bless you real good.🙏🏿🙏🏿

My grandma used to make me wear a scarf to bed every night cause she on did my hair once every two weeks, so I’ve been wearing a scarf almost my whole life. 😊
