Exploring Duntroon Gaol.

(Baddies in Duntroon must have been few and far between or have been midgets back in the day because you couldn't fit more than one or two in this miniscule Gaolhouse (1910). These days, anyone committing a crime amongst this centre of 114 folk is transported to Oamaru.

The good news is the locals love the old lockup enough to preserve it and place a set of stocks outside to amuse the visitors. The real historic attraction is across the road in the form of Nichol's Blacksmith Shop and the Brewery Hole. Nearby, the Constables House (also small! ) and the Railway Station have been converted to visitor accommodation.)
