I'm a statistics graduate student and all I needed was Math Sorcerer approved. Learning R is easy coming from other languages, but finding a guide to good R has been difficult without a solid trustworthy reference

No Starch is a great publisher. The Linux Command Line is the equivalent for Bash; highly recommend
