I show you how to fix your Xbox 360 Wireless Controller If you've already tried putting new batteries in. What happened was my old battery had corrosion on the battery bottom which spread to the negative spring which would not allow proper flow on battery to terminal, I took a wired brush and brushed off the battery corrosion and that fixed the problem.

tried so many things, this one seems to be the one that had some effectiveness, thanks! I did not have battery corrosion, but there is some oxidation on the metal on both connectors.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS. I CLEANED MY CONTROLLER LIKE YOU SUGGESTED. HOWEVER...MY PROBLEM WAS ALSO THE BATTERY LEADS INSIDE THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT. THE POSITIVE LEAD HAD SOME BATTERY CORROSION ON IT WITH BATTERY DEPOSITS INSIDE. ONE I SCRATCHED AND SCRAPED ALL THAT OUT AND PUT IN NEW BATTERIES...MY CONTROLLER LIT RIGHT UP. HAPPINESS...HAPPINESS. THANK YOU.

There was no obvious corrosion in my case, after i saw your video, I tried to pull up springs a few time in a way trying to clean them, it worked. Thanks!!!

For anyone who has corrosion inside the battery pack, this is what helped me: I got a q-tip and drenched the tip of it with some regular distilled vinegar, then I cleaned the inside of the pack with the vinegar q-tip. I then dried it with another dry q-tip. The controller still wasn't turning on, so...

I literally poured coke (the soda) into the battery pack, and shook the pack so the soda got to all the corrosion. I then rinsed it off with some water (there are better options than water I'm sure), then dried the whole thing with a hair dryer for about 5 minutes on the medium setting, not letting it get too hot.

I put the batteries in, connected the pack to the controller and to my surprise, it worked. I kinda wish I recorded it. :)

If you have corrosion on the controller, I highly advise to not pour soda into it.... just in case that wasn't already obvious.

Thanks Man! Mine was corroded on the springs but the fix for me was the 2 tabs inside the plastic battery housing which also needed a clean. I used a fibreglass scratch pen.

OMG THANKS!!! There was corrosion on both the spring and the battery pack. To fix the battery pack u just have to scrub the inside with vinegar and baking soda then dry it.

Thank you I have found my problem i saw that green stuff at the bottom of the battery and I didn’t think much of it because it thought it wasn’t a big deal here I am now as a kid learning more about this corrosion stuff. Once again thank you.

BLESS U DUDE!!!
My batteries looked fine, but i still used a q-tip and some nail polish cleaner to clean the springs, then rubbed them a bit with alluminium foil bc i didn't have a metal bristle brush and IT WORKED. BLESS. I was so freaked out it was broken!!!

My problem was that the battery port refused to stay in place. I used some duct tape to stick it there. It works with normal batteries, but not with my rechargeable ones. They seem like they have become a tiny bit bigger with extensive use. I guess I'll have to buy new ones.

Thanks for the video. I was having intermittent issues with my wireless 360 controllers. I opened up my battery compartment to check for corrosion, as you did, but my terminals were clean. However, I did notice that the springs inside the controller were pushed back. I was able to use a screwdriver to push my springs forward so the batteries made a better connection and voila! Problem solved. Apparently, the springs can be removed for cleaning, and as such, they can move up/down the "track" where they are seated. If you are having issues with you wireless controller and you don't see any corrosion, check to make sure the springs are making full contact with batteries. If not, try using a screwdriver to push them either direction. Good luck!

Thanks Man, this made my day, I realized my springs were so dirty so I cleaned them with toilet paper since I didn’t have any brushed, after that I put back the batteries and now it’s working, thanks.
