Explanation: He was assigned a work partner which was a robot(forgot what they were called in the anime) and they worked for a company that sells and retrieves old robots to replace them but it also replaces their memories. Sadly the partner he has soon has a few weeks before being renewed so they end up spending time together but eventually have to depart as he retrieves her data leaving him to be assigned a new partner.
