Was running high voltage lines to the Marina on Parris Island. Were in the process of jackhammering the concrete across a tank trail to run everything underground when a well-educated but totally stupid supervisor came up and said we weren't doing it fast enough. He decided to take the jackhammer and promptly got a bit stuck. We couldn't explain to him that you had to bust up a little of the concrete at a time to get to the rebar, cut that out with a torch, then continue on to the next layer of rebar. He ended up sticking several bits in the concrete then told us we had to get them out. The HMFWIC showed up and was watching him. When he told that to us the real boss said "take a long lunch and when you get back they'll all be out". We took a 3-hour lunch and got paid for it. When we got back he was still fighting the last one. We all sat around watching it until he got it out. It was August. He left and never showed back up at the site.
