HOW TO BUILD HOUSES IN THE BIG TREES | The Forest

In this video of The Forest, I should you how to build in the big trees, or the sacred trees as they are known as. You cannot attach platforms to the side of them anymore. This is a rather easy build to do, and it is quite cheap. Keep in mind that middle pillar in the tree is what is holding it up, canni's can't destroy but mutants can.

You could reduce the gap by building the two pillars closer together. Filling the gap was really hard to do, it took me ages and I am not sure how I even did it.
I got asked how to do this by PE9CE in my discord. He said Broadbents version wasn't working, it is due to the big trees losing the ability to be built on.
Let me know what ideas you have for what could be built on this, how with a roof looks kind of funny with the branches and leaves sticking out. Cheers

I would like to see builds like this doe in the 2021 version of the game because custom flooring no longer attaches to pillars like that. It only allows you to place on the ground or make another floor to a house you built but what sucks is literally all your awesome build are longer viable in the current version of the game. It's like Endnight doesn't want people to have such awesome builds anymore lol

you can use the blueprint as a measuring tool, for example: Start a stone wall / stick fence in the middle of the tree then move away to the radius you want and while moving away, count the number of top stones / vertical sticks, place your structure. You can now go back to the middle, again placing a fence in the middle, move out and count the vertical sticks. Works best with stick fence since the distance between two vertical sticks is pretty constant if you're not placing it on a steep slope.

I've built a similar treehouse and found that the mutants can hit the floor even if you build 5 rock walls high. But only just touching it. Great video, love your work.

Nice build. Think I need to start playing The Forest again. I was playing it way too much and it was getting repetitive, but I've been away from it for a while now so it's probably worth doing another play through. A fun build that I did with that tree was creating a building that completely enclosed the tree inside. It was massive. With some lighting inside the building to light up the tree, it looked pretty cool.

All those with PS4 I’ve figured out how to make this work, it’s expensive but possible, only difference is you need to add a custom roof first, then add a “snap to” custom floor, once up you’ll notice the floor is not flat cus it’s a roof, so build a wall around the edge which will even it out then you can then place flat custom floor on top!

Hmm .. Very interesting project !! It will be necessary to try this done, only install the pillars on the principle of building a round tower. Stand with your back to the tree and install the pillars on the floor. So the building will be smoother around the perimeter.
