Amen, what a great word and teaching Pastor David, I often like on Pastor Miles chapter go back more than once or twice to get the full message, reflect, and let it sink in.

One thing I admire, and love about Pastor David, is he is not afraid to go where few of today's shepherds will go, and call a spade a spade, and give bad news when it is necessary. What he says is true if you depend in and on riches, from the luxury townhomes on the beaches of Malibu, La Jolla, Ranchos Palos Verdes, Santa Barbara, up the coast to San Francisco or elsewhere, do not get lost in the wealth God has entrusted you in this life. Do not treat those who serve you in your house wickedly or evil as some do, cheating them down to the last nickel or dime. Be it known if you trust in the government, that bank account that says a gadzillion tomorrow can be effectively "frozen or changed" to say $0.00 ZERO and what then can or will you be able to do? For if the lawless fight the lawless, will not the stronger and powerful dog, eat the other dog? This is not the way God intended people to live. From the greatest to the least, our DEPENDENCE for SUSTAINANCE is because of his merciful PROVIDENCE, not (I earned this, and no one can take it away, and I am not sharing with no one). No - not at all, do not be deceived, those who breathe, do so today because even that which you think not of that cost yet nothing in currency, is LOANED to YOU by the Lord. That you can enjoy it, use it, have the strength to get up and be mobile and do anything, is also from the Lord. Our very lives each day, from birth to the box, are determined as the Lord grants and wills. While in ignorance, God grants common mercy, but there does come a day of accountability. So as David says, DO NOT WAIT until it is TOO LATE, learn from the mistakes of others. GOD is not MOCKED, but HE IS MERCIFUL. Repent today, while it is still called day, and you are freshly reading and thinking of what was said and written. God uses people to change the way you live, so you can change your direction, and the direction of others. This life is to be lived for him, and not foolishly spent on ourselves for 70-80-90 years without even once cracking open the Holy Writ called the Bible, for in eternity if that is the case, woe be to the one who stands before Him trying to justify why you were too busy to read, or even listen to His word for consideration.

I love how David illustrates what many think, surely God won't cast moi' aside, because one may go to church or throw a mere pittance or tip to the Lord in the offering (if that). Many give out of their surplus. It is good that one goes to church. It is good that one gives. But doing these things DOES NOT SAVE us. These are moral or ethical deeds and WORKS do not get us into HEAVEN, Faith does and when one has faith, then the works flow out of a desire to please, and honor the Lord. Not to get his attention, hey Lord did you see what I did last Saturday or Sunday, look at that, wow. I remember the words of the late great Adrian Rogers, who said, "some people feel they are doing God a wild favor to show up an hour a week" yet if you live like the devil or for yourself the rest of the week, you have to ask yourself why did you really come in the first place? Today I was reading in Jeremiah 36 where the king and his servants not only defied the Word of God given them once or twice, they IGNORED and DEFIED it much like many do today, and cut up the words that did not please or tingle their ears, and tossed the scroll into the FIRE. God was not pleased with them and their rule in the house of David was no more. So if God holds the KING of the LAND accountable, will he not do the same for you?

“As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.” 1 Tim 6:17

I'll admit this is a passage I'm not that familiar with, thank you for teaching on it!

There are no "FREE PASSES" when we do one thing of good to negate 7 or more bad things we should not be doing. God SEES all our SECRETS. We get away with nothing. The videotape replay unconfessed is waiting. God does not wink, or look the other way at sin. Be not fooled, and know all men who tell you otherwise are liars, God is not mocked. Each and every one of us will give an account before the Creator of the universe the Lord God on the day He calls us home and we are done with this life on earth. While you have the power to choose and do good, I implore you, Heed the Words of the Lord, his servants, the prophets, the disciples, and REPENT - which means change your mind and life from where you are currently at, to reflect and align to His will. Be not lost in your life, be lost in His, He will find you. Be found in the Book of Life.

Famous Amos ~ (not the chocolate chip maker, although I do hear he is a Christian) ... is located early in the Minor Prophet books of the Old Testament for those getting acquainted with reading the Scriptures and Scrolls that the Jewish people and disciples of Jesus time read, as did Jesus Himself in the Temple. If our Lord read these words and took them to heart should we not. Hosea, Joel, Amos - 9 more prophets after him, they may be minor books but they carry a MAJOR and POWERFUL message in each of them, pointing us to The Way, the Lord Jesus. God intends good, in bringing you the reader examples of calamity and disaster. These are not just boring stories (as some would think, I know I did when I did not understand them being younger) of names we no longer use or can pronounce. These are real people, with real-life stories that apply freshly today as the morning or evening news you will hear and see tonight after work. God wants you to read, understand, and take them to heart, so what happened to them (don't let this be you) - happens to you and yours or your friends. Share the Word, share what you learn and discover, grow in the Lord, and help others to do just that.
