Sometimes animators like to mess with your sense of dimensions and size. Just check the balloons in UP and notice the number of times they change size. Sometimes the balloons are bigger than the house.

The part of the film that doesn't hang together well is that Flynn is about to be hanged for aggravated theft and resisting arrest as far as we know, which is a hugely disproportionate punishment. Yet at the end of the film Rapunzel is said to "rule the kingdom wisely as her father had done before" ... ah well, nitpicking. Let's hope Rapunzel changed that particular law when she took over the crown.
