ABBA, Village People, Bee Gees, Electric Light Orchestra, Queen, KISS, Donna Summer, Kenny Rogers, Chic, Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind & Fire, Olivia Newton-John, Boney M, Blondie, what an incredible year for music! However, three of my favorite 1979 songs were not included on this video: "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" by Rod Stewart, "Too Much Heaven" by the Bee Gees and "Rasputin" by Boney M.

It's hard to believe that we went from this music to what we have today!

For decades, I searched for that song "Spirits", thinking it was Andy Gibb. Thanks to you, I found it now. It is the Bee Gees.

Was 1979 the best year of the 70's musically? ...it gets my vote. So diverse - it had ballads, euro pop, hard rock, prog rock, punk, country, soul etc

Is it weird that I wasn't born until 16 years after these songs were released, but I'm convinced 1979 is the best year for music?

ABBA has 6 songs in this compilation, 5 from the same album (Voulez vous). Great year for them and for music in general.

there is more quality and variety in this year of music than in the last 20 years. The ending 70s and early 80s is the best period of music, lightyears ahead of any other
