That looks like the same reel I use, a Daiwa Tournament Surf QDA and it has braid mainline with a heavier shock leader, so I also use the British Breakaway Tackle Casting Cannon. Works well, but its placement position on the rod is important for best release timing results

Thank you for zooming out each time the line was released

that's pretty cool, when catfishing I often use big sinkers and large bait, so I can definitely see how this would be handy.thanks for the video.

Got mine on e-bay for $23.00, It works just as he says...I dont know why, but it also increases the power in the rod, and i'm casting much farther.

After some research these are called "casting triggers". Apparently used a lot in asia and very cheap. I got some other brand from ebay called hyper something and have been using it for a year without any problems. These things really do help cast a mile!

And exactly why didn't I know about this 10 years ago?

neat, I just put a wrap or 2 of duct tape around the 1st joint of the index finger where the line sits as you cast. Makes your finger damn near bulletproof for pennies.

Perfect, I sometimes even cut my finger when I forget to tighten the bobbin .. can you tell me the name of this tool so I can use it in my fishing? Brasil.

I suggest filming on the right handed caster's left side, for safety. From some break offs I've seen, you were in danger there. Hope this tip keeps you and everyone else safe!

It's a functional idea for someone who only uses one rod baiting and waiting, I'd keep my casting glove though. I fish more then one rod and use both spinning and casting outfits so I'll keep to my kevlar thumb and index padding.

bought 2 one for the wife (loves it) and me (hate it) for 25 bucks apiece, I thought that was arip-off, but she really likes it.Improves her casting.Takes a bit of practice

Got one. Practiced with it on the bank. 12ft. Rod, 50lb. Braid main line, 4, 6&8 oz.. stinkers. Was able to get 70 to 80 yard casts regularly. This is great for me, I need to be able to get out to where the stripers and big cats are.
I haven't tried casting with 2 to 3oz cut bait on the end of a slip sinker rig, but if I drop my poundage on my braided main line I think I can get 70 - 80 yrd casts with the slip sinker rig.
Breakaway cannon is very forgiving on your index finger when casting. I would practice a few casts with it before actually trying to fish with it. It's not hard to use at all. SAFETY FIRST.
