Hey @razer, support Right to Repair and sell me replacement parts. #tech #technology #shorts #broken

Imagine a mechanic who owns a reputable repair shop having to ship their expensive car cross country just to have a common part replaced. That's what's happening here. And it's going to keep happening until we have some kind of Right to Repair laws that force companies to SELL THE CONSUMER REPLACEMENT PARTS. Based on other people's experience with this 4K OLED panel, I'm almost certain Razer will end up telling me they don't have replacement parts (even though they still sell this screen on newer models), so I'm curious what my repair options will be.
The bigger question though, should it be legal for a company to sell a product when they do not have enough replacement parts to fix the product if it breaks? And this is for every industry. Car manufacturers sell vehicles that they don't have replacement parts for. People end up waiting MONTHS for replacement parts at the same time they're paying for a vehicle they can't drive. If a company can't provide replacement parts for X amount of the cars they plan on selling, they shouldn't be able to sell them in the first place. What are your thoughts?

Sometimes owning a repair shop makes me feels like in a second class citizen type of deal, we need to find alternate means to get information and stuff but we are usually vastly more capacited than the "authorized" ones, welp that's life

I give Razor at least a few cents for giving me a free upgrade when my spacebar fucking died and literally no one could figure out how. Sent it to Razor and they didn’t know how I messed up my spacebar so bad and left no evidence on how. Pair that with the fact that they discontinued both the model and color I had, and they just sent me a better/more expensive keyboard one in black. Gotta love that I keep fucking up tech in confusing ways.

That KBB "smokin crack" meme is fkn gold lmao. Also... RIGHT TO REPAIR! 👍 The movement is moving at least. Albeit very slowly... John Deere was forced to adhere to RTR laws recently. Somewhere... Ohio I think?

I have a razor laptop, it’s great but at one time I had an issue with it in warranty. It took 2-3 MONTHS to email razer about the issue and try to solve it. Along with 1 time where I lost all my data cause of unclear instructions. When it came round to sending them the laptop I just gave up and eventually some time later fixed it myself.

It was a fucking driver issue.

Did you even make an update video with what the problem was after the $99 diagnosis?

And wild some put *x company* on a pedestal of quality with yes apple being so for their *up charged prices* more than what the production cost is for their things.

But wow, it sucks man and can hope all OEM's get on board.

Had a razer with a cracked screen out of warranty they didn't even have the part so they sent me a whole new laptop for 300$ a year newer too and bonus my cracked screen was on an out of box which was used.

Not going for Razer anytime soon. They feel like Apple.... Looks cool, works quite well but they don't provide service when something goes wrong. They just treat you like a cash cow as you bought their expensive device in the first
