I’m also an interior designer in Scotland . I can’t recommend thrift shopping enough . Makes your home more unique. Good for environment and better on the wallet .

I have picked up so many high end things too .. Hermes, Gucci, lk bennet and a wardrobe of cashmere jumpers . Nothing I like more than to wander around charity shops and find treasures to take home

Always wash anything you get from a thrift store I worked at a thrift store and all we do is open up the bags and boxes sorted and throw it out on a sales for there is no washing machines know anything to disinfect them please start washing everything you get from the thrift stores

I do the same !
I have found Pottery barn, welst elm, crate & barrel etc. I rarely shop the bigbox stores anymore !

Yeah, I wouldn’t trust any thrift store to sanitize stuff. What’s really sad is you can find some other stuff at tag sales for way cheaper.

Tip: when a candle burns down far enough…add a little sand, to protect the wick, & add a tea light…same effect & it saves the original candle! 🥰.

I love your thrift store. All the thrift stores near me suck! They want so much money for crap! You are so lucky. I try to hit up thrift stores when I travel out of state. I usually find some gems.

Heads up w brass & silver pieces at the thrift store usually have lead! I saw someone got lead poising from all their thrifted brass pieces. Test first, or just don’t take the risk 🥲
