Mecca’s Grand Mosque is almost completely empty as Saudi Arabia prepares to host a scaled-back Hajj pilgrimage.

The hajj, which begins Wednesday, normally draws about 2.5 million people for five intense days of worship in one of the world's largest gatherings of people from around the world.

This year, Saudi Arabia's Hajj Ministry has said between 1,000 and 10,000 people already residing in the kingdom will be allowed to perform the pilgrimage. Two-thirds of those pilgrims will be from among foreign residents in Saudi Arabia and one-third will be Saudi citizens.

The kingdom has one of the Mideast's largest outbreaks of the coronavirus, with more than 266,000 reported infections, including 2,733 deaths.

I honestly think that there should be more people in Hajj because it seems very unusual for Hajj to do social distancing

So sad when people don't appreciate the privalge and honour of being chosen to be in the Holy land this is how the almighty punishment Comes. I've been to holy land many times and time of salaah the people who are chosen to be in Holy land ignore the call for prayer. Busy enjoying themselves eating and shopping what a major sin to miss a salaah? Yet the poor who cannot afford anymore and will appreciate and do justice to the holy land cannot afford it anymore

The Four Sacred Months for pilgrimage are July, August, September and October every year since the creation of the Heaven and the Earth. Pilgrimage is to be performed in Mecca where the Kaaba and Masjid al-Haram are located, and not Petra (Jordan) as falsely claimed by certain parties. And the one chosen and authorized by God to explain such prophecy and its authenticity is none other but Elias, the reincarnated Elijah. Moreover such fact is confirmed by God's Signature, the Mathematical Miracle Code 19, that bears God's attributes, the First(1) and the Last(9), Alpha(1) and Omega(9), the Beginning(1) and the End(9), the Outermost(1) and the Innermost(9).

Ponder over God's Word from the Quran, and together with Proof from Him,

O children of Adam, when messengers come to you from among you, and recite My revelations to you, those who take heed and lead a righteous life, will have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve. (7:35)

O you who believe, do not violate the rites instituted by God, nor the Sacred Months, nor the animals to be offered, nor the garlands marking them, nor the people who head for the Sacred Shrine (Ka`bah) seeking blessings from their Lord and approval. Once you complete the pilgrimage, you may hunt.* Do not be provoked into aggression by your hatred of people who once prevented you from going to the Sacred Masjid. You shall cooperate in matters of righteousness and piety; do not cooperate in matters that are sinful and evil. You shall observe God. God is strict in enforcing retribution. (5:2)

God has appointed the Ka`bah, the Sacred Masjid, * to be a sanctuary for the people, and also the Sacred Months, the offerings (to the Sacred Masjid), and the garlands marking them. You should know that God knows everything in the heavens and the earth, and that God is Omniscient. (5:97)
