Chris Lattner and Richard Wei unveil Swift for TensorFlow (TFiwS) as an early stage open source project. It has many design advantages, and will be released with technical whitepaper, code, and an open design approach in April of this year. TFiwS means TensorFlow integrated with Swift but we are officially calling it Swift for TensorFlow. Stay tuned for more announcements from the TensorFlow team regarding the support of Swift!

Makes a ton of sense that Chris decides to do this for Swift(He designed the language while he was at Apple a couple years back)

So where’s pre-compile version of TensorFlow-GPU on Mac?
I’m very appropriated your work on with swift even native support for XCode Sketchbook which only works on Mac.
But the sad part of Mac version is that for each upgrades you made, we have to recompile all again by ourselves.

Do you know if they plan on merging this with the main swift branch at one point or are they going to keep it as two seperate languages/Toolchains?

where is he working now ? did he switched from Tesla to Google now ? didn't know that..may be the start up culture was not his cup of tea
