China and Japan have vowed to take their relationship to the “next level” after their leaders met ahead of the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping pledged in their June 27, 2019, meeting that they will work together to safeguard multilateralism and free trade.

Xi also confirmed he will make a state visit to Japan in spring 2020.

Despite stronger Sino-Japanese ties and concerns about the impact on Japan of unilateral trade measures by the US, analysts say the alliance between Tokyo and Washington remains intact.

US President Donald Trump is expected to meet Abe and Xi on June 28 and June 29, respectively.

yes, strengthen relationship right after mr Abe told mr XI to keep HK as it is literally hours after China said it wouldn't allow this issue to be discussed or mentioned. NICE NEEDLE, Jp vs Ch 1:0

Tokyo means East Capital. Beijing means North Capital. It’s about time China and Japan show rest of world what they can accomplish. Forget Brussels and Washington.

China: "I know we have been cursing and talking trash about you non-stop for 50 years...but like, can we be friends now? Because we need you."

0:13 えーーー?。
そうか、ははは。 this was the most intense meeting I've ever seen. If you'll notice. They're quietly just staring at each other while the Prime Minister and the President or Chairman is talking. It has a hostile atmosphere. Seriously intense. 1:10 the three most powerful and economic leaders in the world.

They're playing each other, looks like a win-win here. Our State Department should be really worried about this.

Two countries who have been at war for generations just suddenly want to become besties... that's not fishy or nothing. Kind of reminds me of NK and America. I don't trust the world and I recommend neither do you.
