So far I’ve built 3 bootleg gunships for under the price of the 2013 gunship. I got a 4th on the way cause I’ve yet to be missing a piece for each set. Though figures are a real 50/50 on the helmets. Thank you custom Lego helmets for that save though.

I would say to real collectors, buy the fake ones to be a display and keep the real ones in the box, that way the value of the original would only increase because it would be an unopened lego collectors box

One question that I have is couldn't you build this set from the ground up by using official lego pieces and the instructions for the venator instead of blowing money on the real one or getting a little less quality with the knockoff?

Got my fake venator around the time you posted this video and while I agree with most things, I can tell that at least on mine all the features works just as they should (bombs, bridge etc), no pieces missing, no pieces falling out. Yes, the plastic is not the same quality and some pieces have more or less grip than they should have, but considering the price and the fact that Lego no longer makes it, I think this is a no brainer to buy if you don't already have the original one.

If you paid 1/4 of the current price of the Venator, you got ripped off. It is literally $25 on hitian, last I checked the Lego version is about $800. You could literally buy the fake, replace the parts that don't work with real Lego, and still be hundreds of $ better off.
