Met these folks in person last April. That's my Maverick @1:30 and again @3:00. Two words come to mind. Ambitious and determined. What a great family.

Hello Ray, I'm an 84 year old ex mechanic. I had my own shop for 30 years. I really appreciate your approach to mechanical repairs. I'm too old to learn computer diagnostics, but I am amazed when you flip through your diagnostics. Keep up the good work.

Got hooked on his site via the "I Do Cars" channel and their joint venture with a minivan engine replacement.
Always great info for the DIYers.

I think that he is one of the few honest mechanics who dares to show rusty bolts and nuts can be a pain in the .... and that everything isn't allways going by the book.
A bolt cracks and you can spend hours trying to drill or welt something on, and then it cracks again.
Ray don't like when other shops are taking money for doing nothing. Neither do I.
That's why he allways is worth looking and listen to.

I enjoy Ray's videos which he even tecords his mistakes and was happy for him when after a philosophical disagreement with the new owner of the shop where he formerly worked, he and Lauren opened there own shop. Which has been most successful. He's added service bays and taken on associate mechanics. I also liked that he trained Lauren how to do some things to. My grandson says he wants to become a mechanic, he's already working for an oil change shop. I hope he does get into trch school after high school and gets the training he needs.
