I’m looking for advice on sizing for the QST 106. I’m a 71 year old, 40 year professional ski patroller looking for a ski to accompany my Kendo 88 for softer snow/crud conditions. I live in Southern VT, am 5’11 and weigh 195 lbs. what are your thoughts? Thanks!

Fantastic review video! I'm 5'11, 160 lbs advanced skier based in tahoe. Trying to find a good powder/ all-mountain hybrid ski to pair with my montero ax - would you recommend this ski? I was also looking at the Moment Countach 110, the Rossignol Sender Free 110 and the Rustler 11.

Currently skiing on the Salomon QST 92. Looking at getting a wider pair of skis that can do it all really. Mainly ski in the French alps, but planning on going to Japan at some point. Would you recommend that 106 as a good option.

Ski piste, off piste and a little bit of jumps and boxes.. nothing major. Need something that can also handle the powder as well

Thanks for video. As always, very useful. Quick question: I am thinking about replacing my old (and a bit damaged) Rustler 10 180cm which I have enjoyed a lot, with either the new Rustler 10 but a bit longer (186cm) or these QST 106. I am hesitant on the size though…180 or 189 which feels a little too big for me. Which size would you recommend for the QST? I am an expert skier from Europe but spend 8-10 days or so per year in Utah or JH every winter. Good shape and 5’11. I am just not used to go much above 185cm and I like the versatility of using them on groomed tracks when I am back in Europe. Thank you!

Hi ski essentials, great reviews as always! Still trying to build a 2 ski quiver and unfortunately I am in Australia so not much chance to test beforehand. I ski niseko and north Utah generally (28 days a season usually). Niseko is super crowded now so powder stash don’t last long but I will go thru the gates and enjoy the left over powder when I can and the rest of the time I will be with the family on groomers but playing on the sides, trees and little jumps, switch and hitting walls when there is one etc…I am torn between the Qst 106 and Dynastar m free 108 as my wider “powder”. Can the Qst 106 be able to drift and smear or definitely more directional?
Any thoughts and advice please ?

Hi Ski essentials, i am trying to decide between the qst 98 and the qst 106, i feel like the 98 would be wide enough for powder but i fear that the 98 is to soft and Not as Hard and directional as the 106. Which one is better at carving at higher speeds?

When you say more athlete inspired, are you saying it takes a more advance skier to ski it or it is a more demanding ski that will tire you out quicker?

Would this be too heavy for tours ? Already have a lighter tour setup (Superwolf w/ ATK Raider 12) for long tours but want something for deeper days.

Would be 50/50 resort/touring, not sure if going for touring would make sense for that usage or if I should just commit to resort skiing with them.

how do these compare to the Sender Free 110? I am torn between the two. I currently ski a blackops 98 out east and am looking for wider big mountain west coast ski that has both good float in soft snow but can still handle a groomer.

I’m between the Salomon QST 106 and the Line Optic 104. I ski in Europe and am an aggressive expert skier. I want a ski that’s good on groomers and can hold up but want to be able to get out and about off piste. I currently ski on 4Frnt KYE 120 and it’s just too big for all but 1 week a season. Appreciate your feedback!

Hi guys! I Would you have a recommendation regarding the mounting point for the 189 length? Should I stick to the factory recommended point or go +1? Does it have a big influence on the way it skis, especially on flotation? The comments I’ve read until now are mixed. Also, if relevant, this is my first freeride ski and I only intend to use it when the snow is nice and fresh.

You said that they rebound nice.. I am trying to figure out what that means.. I demoed those a couple years ago and they would go over everything and what I really liked about the skis is that they weren't reactive..

I’m not sure where to mount my bindings. I currently have bent 100s at + 4 and I like them there a lot. Im a skier that will do anything. Park, trees, groomer, side hits, chopped up night skiing etc. I’m thinking about doing no more than + 2 on the 106. Have you guys tried it at +2 at all? I’m just afraid I won’t like it that far up. I’ve tried my friends blanks at +2 and I thought they were awesome there. I also tried his older qst 99s at factory recommended and I felt like I was getting sent into the backseat all the time and it was very hard to stay forward. Would you say these ski similar to the blanks or more of the 99? I dont know im just not sure what to do and I can’t really seem to find a lot online. Thanks for any help!
